Core Beliefs

The following core beliefs of Pathway Christian Church are based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. all of our teaching and ministry is rooted in these Biblical doctrines.

The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living. As the flawless Word of God, it is our only authority for what we believe and how we live. Read: 2 Timothy 3:15-17.

There is one God who has revealed Himself as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh, through an authentic human life—1 Timothy 3:16. To see Jesus is to see God. Read: Deuteronomy 6:4; John 14:9; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9.

Everyone has sinned and needs salvation; Romans 3:23-25 & Romans 6:23. Salvation comes by grace through faith by the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ; Ephesians 3:8-9. The New Testament experience of salvation consists of repentance from sin, water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with evidence in speaking in other tongues, after which Christians are to live a godly life. Read: Acts 2:1-4; Acts 2:36-41.

The gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We express our belief in the gospel through our obedience to the gospel. We obey the gospel and apply it to our lives by repenting of our sins (death to sin), being baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection). Read: Acts 2:4; Acts 2:37-39; 2 Thessalonians 1:8; 1 Peter 4:17. Read: 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 6:3-4.

According to the words of Jesus in Mark 12:28-32, we are to love God and love others. We are made in the image and likeness of God—Genesis 1:26-27; therefore we are to display God inwardly and outwardly by reflecting Godly characteristics. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today. Read: 2 Corinthians 7:1; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10.

Jesus Christ is coming again for His church. In the end there will be a final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life and the unrighteous eternal death. Read: 1 Thessalonians 4.16-17; Revelation 20.11-15.
